branding development

I wanted the branding to be aesthetically relevant to the audience and locations of product sales (artisan fleas, art markets, craft fairs, etc.). My goal with these designs was to compliment the roots of the program while creating brand identity and presence to ultimately boost sales.

‘location’ candles

product development + branding application

HT works with immigrants and refugees from all around the world; leading to the inspiration behind this product concept I wanted to create something that was both representative of the nonprofit’s mission and also the people it serves. The ‘location’ candles were developed based on client’s heritages and the scents derived from these lands and cultures. I illustrated scenes to correspond with the concept for the label artwork.

I took this opportunity to expand my branding design, applying the templates while developing a new product. Since I was using thrifted candle containers that didn’t usually have a lid, I designed wick covers and an additional back label to ensure the product had the look and feel of an artisan candle. I opted to use transparent labels for the front artwork so as the candle burns, the image becomes illuminated.

seasonal sale candles

Due to the success of the location candles at monthly sales, I was asked to create an additional line of seasonal themed candles to sell at upcoming holiday markets. For this product, I wanted to experiment with a new label design, in keeping with established branding, yet separate from the previous product. I illustrated a variety of classic seasonal imagery for the label artwork.

Both candles renditions were highly successful at monthly sales; the seasonal collection in particular being the most popular. This product sold out at its first market debut!

promotional product + logo refresh

a Makerspace member with a yoga small business practice tasked me with developing a branded promotional product that she could hand out after her classes. In addition to creating meditation candles, I offered to refresh her logo and provided a few design iterations to choose from. .

The client wanted the logo text font and imagery to stay the same, but was open to slight changes. I experimented with spacing, placement, and ways to incorporate the butterfly detail into the text. I wanted the refreshed design to feel a bit more polished with compacted spacing for label application.
