Starseed is a women’s yoga wear and athlesiure start-up based in Oakley, Ohio. Created by a former nyc fit model turned yoga instructor/spiritualist, the brand aims to provide beautiful and effortless pieces with a high-end feel that are functional for exercise and daily life. As head designer, I was tasked with designing a working line of branded garments as well as conceptualizing and developing an original capsule collection.
My first task was applying Starseed’s new branding to a line of basics with graphic ‘merch’ iterations. I was then asked to design print+pattern variations based off the logo; taking inspiration from Louis Vuitton and Coach. These designs aim to reflect the brand’s essence, portraying a mood of ethereal sophistication, everyday glamour, and upscale effortlessness.

For the capsule designs, I was asked to center my ideations around high-necklines with an emphasis on delicate and interesting open-back details. The majority of inspiration was derived from sacred geometry, in reference to Starseed’s spiritual roots and yoga-wear focus. I was extremely intentional with these designs; keeping construction in the forefront to ensure functionality above all else. I also wanted these pieces to be easily expanded upon for accommodating a wider array of silhouettes. This is demonstrated in the illustrated render.

I designed a basics collection of athleisure bra-tops with branded application. I created digital mock-ups incorporating the working color palette and logo print onto a variety of classic yoga wear silhouettes. I wanted these basics to work seamlessly with the following capsule collection designs, while also acting as solid, stand-alone pieces.
